Food Gardening in a Drought Year – WORKSHOPS

Sonoma County Master Gardener Food Gardening Specialists are presenting a new workshop:  Food Gardening in a Drought Year.

low-water-use-food-garden-500The workshop includes how to retain soil moisture and to efficiently use available water; identifies sources of water, provides formulas to determine how much water your food garden needs and provides planting information to help you make water-wise decisions to bring crops to harvest. An opportunity to ask questions/speak to a Food Garden Specialist will follow. Pre-registration is not required. Rain (indoors) or shine (in the garden)!

Food Gardening Specialists are Sonoma County Master Gardeners who have additional training and typically personal experiences in food gardening. In addition to spring and fall workshops, they consult with and provide advice to the community gardens, church and schools gardens, and other neighborhood groups. The specialists are volunteers and do not charge for their services. For more information email them at mgsonomafood@ucdavis.edu or call 707-565-2608.
